
Bishop of North Africa
Bishop Ashley Null is an internationally respected scholar on the grace and gratitude theology of the English Reformation. He holds research degrees from Yale and the University of Cambridge. He is Canon Theologian of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas, Theological Advisor to the ACNA Diocese of the Carolinas and Senior Fellow of the Ridley Institute of St. Andrew’s, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Bishop Null also serves as a chaplain to elite athletes and coaches, helping them to integrate the Reformation’s emphasis on the unconditional love and grace of God with their vocation as professional sportspeople. He is a three-time Olympic chaplain, most recently at London 2012.
Bishop Null is the author of Thomas Cranmer’s Doctrine of Repentance: Renewing the Power to Love (Oxford 2000), “Cowboys, Cowtowns and Cattle Trails” in 150 Years of Kansas Beef (Donning Company, 2011), and Real Joy: Freedom to be Your Best (Haennsler, 2004).
Rector
The Rev. Frank Bernardi serves as the senior pastor of the English expatriate church of St. George’s as well its Arabic congregation. He has over 20 years of experience in ordained ministry during which time he has served in ministries to the homeless and the urban poor. Rev. Frank has a background in software engineering and business, with experience starting businesses that provide job training and economic empowerment in communities that suffer from under employment. He also has considerable experience of studying and teaching about the history of the ancient Christian church in North Africa. Rev. Frank, along with his wife Anne, are Americans who have lived in Tunis, Tunisia since 2001. They have four children. He grew up in California, USA. He has a B.S. in Physics from CSU Long Beach, and an MDiv from Trinity Anglican Seminary.
Associate Rector
Herb serves as Associate Rector of St. George’s and Campus Chaplain of St. Cyprian Diocesan Theological College. For 30 years he served as an Anglican Pastor in the United States. While in Tennessee, he served as Dean of the Mid-South Anglican Convocation and as Chairman of the Board of the Anglican School of Ministry. He has a B.S. in Finance and Management Science from the University of South Carolina, an MDiv. From Virigina Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Anglican Seminary.
